ABOUT THE AUTHOR

John Lippitt is a long-time practitioner, analyst, and professor in the field of policy and politics. He earned a Ph.D. in Social Policy from Brandeis University. He has been an active member of the Reading (MA) Democratic Town Committee since the 1980s and a member of the Leadership Team of Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts since 2015. As a volunteer, he has been active in many campaigns for offices ranging from local town offices to State Representative to President. He worked as paid staff for the Dukakis for President campaign in 1988. Professionally, in addition to on-the-ground work in the early childhood field, he was adjunct faculty at Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts at Boston, teaching policy and early childhood programming from 2012 to 2020.
